The miracle of a new love affair

Tonight I got to hang out with my dear friend Tamar. The following is a pictorial journey through the miracle of the evening – Cinnamon actually bonded with her!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with him yet, my parakeet Cinnamon has been with me for about five and a half months. For a while, he refused to let me anywhere near him. Around Christmas he finally allowed me to handle him for the first time. Now he’s not scared of me, but he still doesn’t seem to have any great fondness for me.

As soon as he sat on Tamar’s finger, though, he calmed right down. He started grooming himself – something I’ve never seen him do outside of his cage. He didn’t try to fly away, even when she moved around. He seemed happy as a clam!  (Is that a weird thing to say about a bird?)

Here’s to new friends! I now know who I’ll be calling next time I need a bird-sitter.  🙂

The love affair begins

Ahhh...how sweet...

Staring deep into each other's eyes...

Impressing the girl with his studly parakeet chest

Tamar wonders..."Where can our love go from here?"

Establishing right away who gets to be on top
