This miracle was submitted by Laura, who you may remember from this post about my ziplining adventure last week. The first time I read this it gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing story. Enjoy!
“Since 2009 when I survived an 8 hour surgery to remove a brain tumor, I have celebrated January 15th as my “miracle” day. Perhaps it was no coincidence that January 15, 2009 was also the day Capt. Sully landed a passenger jet on the Hudson River in NYC.
In 2010, January 15th was the day I met the love of my life.
I believe that miracles happen to those who are willing to open their hearts and believe…not always easy when there is so much sadness in the world. I always say that brain surgery was the best thing that ever happened to me, because it gave me the ability to experience a world full of miracles. January 15th may be my special day, but every day has the potential for miracles now.“

As for my 37 list, today I made progress on #5 (stepped WAY outside my comfort zone), #7 (shed my shyness for a few minutes), and #11 (treated my body to foods that are healthiest for it.)
Quick anecdote on #11 – this weekend I was in a class in which the teacher suggested mixing a tablespoon of honey with a 1/2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar each day to help clean out toxicities in the liver. I thought it sounded incredibly nasty, but it also sounded easier than starting a garden to grow any of the herbs she was talking about. I decided to go for it. This morning I tried it – and it’s not bad! I tasted it straight and it didn’t make me want to gag at all. Then I added it to my morning fruit and vegetable drink and couldn’t even taste it. It’s something I can start doing each day to keep me moving on #11. Here’s to a healthy liver!
