I haven’t been eating a lot of pizza lately as I try to keep my diet more or less gluten-free. However there is one place where I simply cannot refuse pizza, no matter what.
When I go to my friends Jill and Adam’s house, Adam makes amazing homemade pizza. Not only was tonight not an exception…it was perhaps the BEST PIZZA I’ve ever tasted. Yes, that is a mighty bold statement, but I feel pretty darn comfortable making it.
Tonight’s pizza involved homemade pesto and kale. I don’t know the specifics, but I know that I could have eaten the entire thing by myself. It was delectable. It was actually better than that, but I don’t know enough words to express it properly.
The pizza wasn’t the end of it, though. Oh no, not at all! Then came Jill’s cookies. Jill makes cookies that I actually fantasize about between visits to their house. I asked her tonight what makes her cookies so special and her methods don’t sound so different from any other cookie recipe you’ve ever seen, but OH. MY. GOODNESS.
It was a good night. And although she was having a hard time of it tonight, I also got to see my favorite baby (also known as The Artichoke Baby) for a few minutes. Even in the midst of an “I’m so tired I can’t fall asleep” sounding cry, she is still one of the most beautiful children I’ve ever seen. She’s so precious, I could eat her up as well! 🙂
It was a good night.

Leah, I am so sorry we missed you, but we will be back! We actually got to eat this pizza twice during our weekend in NH, which was AWESOME! So tasty…especially with the requisite honey. 🙂

The first time I saw Jill pour the honey I thought – HONEY? ON PIZZA???!!!???
Now I know that it’s simply pure genius. 🙂
I’ll definitely look forward to seeing you next time you come back, Laura!
