Folding a fitted sheet

I just happened to come across this ridiculous video from the Martha Stewart Show about how to fit a folded sheet.  Which made me laugh hysterically because, honest to god, my mother can fold a fitted sheet so no one in the world could tell whether it’s fitted or flat without opening it up.  And I have been trying to learn how to do it my whole life.  I’m getting better but I’m pretty sure they’ll never look as good as hers.

I know, it's unbelievable.

Here’s are two of my sheets that she folded, one fitted and one flat.  Can you tell which is which? Thanks Mom, for always giving me someone to look up and something to strive for.  😉  I love you!

(And for the record, my mom’s sheets look WAY neater than the ones the woman folds in this video!)

That brought back some memories for me. I used to manage a commercial laundry and cannot begin to tell you how many fitted sheets I folded or how many people I taught to fold fitted sheets in the 6 years I was there. To give you an idea of the scale of the operation: we did laundry for hospitals, major hotels, mom & pop cabins, & high end B&B’s from Pittsburg, NH to the Seascoast area. We ran 3 truck routes a day 7 days a week. Our fitted sheets were folded the same way (except we didn’t drag ours on the floor). We had to fold them by size (T, F, Q, K) so the shrink wrappers preparing the sheets for delivery could be sorted for the businesses to place in the appropriate area in their inventory. Once in a while I will get a request from someone to have me teach them this old trick. The key is to have a good table or flat area to work on. I had never seen this video and it brought back good memories for me. Thanks for sharing and happy folding. If you ever want a sheet folding lesson I’m available.
