They Googled what?!

Today I’ve spent a bunch of time considering how to get the word out to a wider audience about The Miracle Journal, and also how to make some money from this endeavor.  I’m not expecting to quit my job or anything but as I work my way out of debt, every extra dollar helps.

I spent today doing research into things that don’t make a lot of sense to me yet.  Like my Google PR rating (which apparently is a PR4, although I have not a clue what that means!)

Along the way, I looked at a list of the terms that people have searched in Google in order to find my site.  Let’s say it was…enlightening.  And gave me a big laugh!  🙂

Here are some of my favorites:

good grades=money – if I could have made money from good grades, I’d be rich by now.  Instead I have to settle for having gotten a good education.

the gershwin miracle – Yes, the music of George and Ira Gershwin definitely is a miracle.  I wonder if there’s something else that I should know about them?

if i cancel my debit card and i have a r – Don’t keep me in suspense!  You have an r-WHAT?

awesome veggie patch – How this ended up at my blog I have no idea.

monday – I wonder how many search results they had to click through before they found me?

I love the pop-up results on Google - sometimes they're hilarious! 🙂

And on a completely different note… there’s a man who started working at the big grocery store in town recently.  He makes me smile every time I see him – he’s always happy and ready with a joke or comment.  Apparently he’s making an effort to memorize all of the customer’s names.  I saw him several times when he didn’t remember my name. He’d apologize and promise to do better next time.  I think the fact that he’s trying at all is astonishing.

Last night he remembered my name!  When I walked up to the register, he said, “Good evening Leah!”  With a big ol’ grin on his face.  It was so sweet.  Thankfully I had taken note of his name as well and was able to respond “Hi there, Rick!”

Such a little thing, but it really made my evening.  It’s wonderful to interact with someone who looks at the world with a smile and makes up challenges to keep themselves entertained.  I hope that I’ll have that kind of great attitude when I’m his age.
