How to put this delicately?
Oh, never mind. This week has been f$%&ing s?#!ty. (No, that wasn’t delicate…I guess I’ll go with “trying to pull off colorful.”) 🙂

*Ahem* In case you were hoping for rainbows and ponies. via
Rather than trying to act like everything is rainbows and ponies, I thought I’d share some of the highlights and lowlights of the week.
Highlight – On Monday I got to do an interview with Sheila Callaham for her podcast. Five days later, it still stands out as one of my favorite hours of the week.
Highlight – On that same day, I spent a half hour at work talking with Kim Hudson, who is opening an herb shop in Littleton. You know those moments when you feel like you’ve just made a new friend? I haven’t talked to her since, but I have a feeling that I’ll really enjoy having her nearby.
Lowlight – When everything was going to hell, the one person I wanted to call was Mr. Blue Eyes. Which I knew would be a bad idea, but it just made me miss him more.
Highlight/lowlight – The Bridal Guide and Business Recognition Guide both went to press this week. Being in charge of two projects with deadlines just 48 hours apart was SUPER stressful…and I’m proud of the end results.
Highlight – The grand Pooh-Bah publisher of the newspaper told me that it’s the best Bridal Guide the paper has ever put out. (I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard him give a compliment to anyone before, so I’m savoring this one.)
Lowlight – I still have a drawer full of Mr. Blue Eyes’ stuff in my apartment. I finally got a box and today I put all the stuff in it. But I couldn’t take the box to the post office. (Intervening not-so-lowlight) I talked with Rev. Nancy this afternoon who assured me that it’s okay to just let the stuff sit in the box for a while.
Highlight – I spent some time on the phone today with Becky McEnany, the woman who coordinates suicide prevention programs for NAMI-NH (National Alliance on Mental Illness). It was a really enjoyable conversation, and although neither of us knew immediately how our work would intersect, we were both quite clear that eventually it would.
Today I also treated myself to a Thai lunch and a trip to the library to get some chick lit novels (which I’ve been sorely missing the last couple of weeks) so I’ve got something light and frothy to read for a while.
Public warning – I’ll spare you an explanation of the lowlight that defined this week, however I will share one lesson that I learned the hard way: social media is SOCIAL. Never write ANYTHING on Facebook that you wouldn’t want printed on the front page of a newspaper. And I mean that absolutely literally. No matter how many privacy settings you have set, Facebook is a public forum. NOTHING is truly private.
Well, there you have it. I’m not sad to see the back end of Friday.
But I can’t ignore that it’s the end of the week, and I’m still standing. And that’s sure as #?*! a miracle.
