In the introduction to The Year Of Miraculous Living (download your free chapter here), I talked about how an astounding miracle is occurring within our bodies at every moment of every day – our heart knows which way to pump our blood without us ever having to think about it.
Little did I know that this would be subject of an actual, honest-to-goodness, healed-from-the-sickbed kind of miracle.
Here’s Kevin Benton’s miraculous story:
I was diagnosed with a rare heart disease called Hypertropic-Cardiomyopathy. It is a heart disorder that causes your heart to enlarge and blood begins to flow in the wrong direction through your heart valves. While in the hospital the doctors ran some extensive tests on me and determined that I only had one day to live.
While I was lying on my hospital bed an old cleaning lady mopped her way into my room, put her mop down, grabbed me by the hands and began to pray that God would heal me. I did not know this lady at all. When she concluded her prayer by saying Amen, it felt like someone poured a cold glass of water on my head that trickled all the way down to my feet.
Miraculously, my heart began to shrink back to its normal size and I could feel the physical change in my body. The old lady left my room and I never saw her again. Next, the doctors came into my room to take my vitals and, thinking that the blood pressure gauge was broken said, “We don’t understand what just happened, this is a miracle that defies our research and logic.”
They decided to run each test again just to be sure and determined that I was fine and that my heart had shrunk back to normal size for an athlete. They kept me in the hospital an extra night just to keep an eye on me. I was wheel chaired into the hospital and given only one day to live and I gingerly walked out in three days. I still have the medicine bottle with two pills left in it hanging in my closet to this very day.

Well this is really miraculous story that not every person can believe because this can be impossible.. But I guess some things really happen for a reason..

Amen. Who knows why this person was spared and others are not but it gives us hope to know that miracles happen.
