A done deal

HELLOOOOO!  Long time, no write.  🙂

Last week turned out to be a completely unexpected hiatus from the Journal because I had to focus all my attention on what was in front of me.  However there is a very happy ending to this story.

On Friday, I officially turned my website development and maintenance business over to another provider.  I’ve been wanting this for about a year, but couldn’t make it happen financially.  A couple months ago, I finally started seeing the numbers working in my favor.

A month ago, a friend put me in touch with a great guy who was interested in taking over my little business (Mark LaClair of TotalScope Marketing, if you’re looking for a web developer 🙂 ).  Friday we signed the papers.

I am officially no longer a website developer…and I couldn’t be happier.

It’s not that building websites was ever a bad thing.  In fact, it was exactly the RIGHT thing for me to be doing for a while.  I learned a lot and met some fantastic people.  But it was never a passion – certainly not the way that writing is a passion.

"The Fool" isn't about being foolish, it's about being trusting. This is from my favorite deck, The Osho Zen Tarot. The description is below because I think it's SO COOL and so fitting to my life right now.

So today I can finally say that I AM DOING IT!!  I am following my passion and trusting with my whole heart that it will support me and lift me – financially AND spiritually.

It was a scary moment to sign those papers.  I laid awake the night before as all the little fear monsters took a lap through my brain: “I can’t do this!  What am I thinking?  I won’t have enough money!  What if I fall behind and don’t have the websites to fall back on?”  And on and on and on…for hours.

But here’s the funny thing – a few hours after we signed the papers, I was sending out emails to my clients letting them know that they can rely on a fabulous new provider.  At the same time, I got an incoming email … from someone who wanted me to start on an editing project that we’d been talking about for several months, but had never materialized.

I jumped off the cliff not knowing what would happen.  And only a few moments later, the parachute opened.

I have an inkling that it only gets better from here.  I’m not quite sure what that will look like, but BOY AM I EXCITED TO FIND OUT!!!!  🙂

THE FOOL description:

“Moment to moment, and with every step, the Fool leaves the past behind. He carries nothing more than his purity, innocence and trust, symbolized by the white rose in his hand. … His intuition is functioning at its peak. At this moment the Fool has the support of the universe to make this jump into the unknown. Adventures await him in the river of life.”
