For the last few months, I’ve been leaving the top of Cinnamon’s cage open while I’m at work so she can fly around the apartment.
Issue #1 – her favorite place to sit at the top of the cage is right above the slot for her water dish. She regularly pooped into her water dish. Clearly unsanitary, not to mention gross. I searched for a better solution. I found a tube to hang on the side of her cage that has a small spout for her to sip from. I found a good place in her cage and was ready to go.
Issue #2 – The cage attachment is a simple little clip, but I couldn’t get it to fit through the bars. I placed the clip on the inside and then tried to twist it so it locked on the outside – but it was really stubborn. I couldn’t get it to twist. I finally forced it into place, but a few days later when I needed to clean the gizmo, I had to take it down and couldn’t figure out how to get it back on again.
Clearly there had to be a better way.
Quite by accident I pushed the clip in from the outside and slipped right into place. Almost as if it were meant to go that way. Oh right – it WAS!!!!
It’s so easy to get used to seeing things in a particular way that we forget there might be other answers.
This weekend I attended the American Society of Dowsers national convention. I’ve been attending for 12 years and speaking there for about 5 years. Every time I go, I am reminded about how many things I’m looking at from a single perspective…and how many other options there are.
Each year a different subject or theme seems to capture my attention – this year it was ancient civilizations (including pre- pre- pre-historic peoples). I had my mind blown any number of times by teachers including David Price Francis, Michael Tellinger, Dayana Jon Patterson and AMAG, Regina Meredith, and Jean Slatter (if you don’t have her book Hiring The Heavens, get it know and come back when you’re done; I’ll wait.)
I won’t try to explain what each of them are teaching, because they are each far too fabulous to cram into a single sentence. Instead, I’ve provided a link to each and I highly recommend clicking on them to see if you find something that interests you. And just so you can all be jealous, I got two hugs and a kiss on the cheek from David Price Francis. Life is good. 🙂
It feels so good to have my mind blown periodically.
Thank you to all of the wonderful teachers I met this weekend. Thank you to all of the participants who gave me such wonderful feedback on the workshop that I did. And thank you to Donna Wheeler who has made our stay at Lyndon State College so joyful for so many years.
Here’s a line that popped into my head yesterday that I keep going back to: “He who dies with the most JOY wins!”
As I was unpacking my car this evening, a man bicycled by and noticed the magnets for The Miracle Journal on my car door. He stopped to ask me about it and said, “Is the Miracle Journal like a Course In Miracles?” I explained to him that it is a blog for me to chronicle my own miraculous experiences. It wasn’t until after we parted that I realized that was only partially the correct answer. So, Greg, if you’re reading – the truth is that this IS a course in miracles. It’s my own personal course in miracles, and I’m studying every single day. 🙂
Thanks to all of you who are along for the ride!
