Serendipity

Today, a little moment of serendipity – the kind that makes me believe in everyday miracles all over again.

While I was sick, I had to cancel a haircut appointment with my beloved hairdresser.  She and I have been missing each other by phone for the last two weeks and my hair was getting to the point where I was ready to hack it off myself.  It was looking terribly unkempt.  I was three weeks past the regular haircut time, and no appointment in sight.

hairdresser-scissorsToday I left work a bit early because I was done with all my work. I knew Donna would probably be at the salon this afternoon, so I decided to stop in and try to grab her in person to make an appointment.  My greatest hope was that it could be sometime next week and I wouldn’t be looking like the missing link between man and ape by the time I got there.

When I walked in, Donna was standing at the desk and said, “Oh perfect, I can take you in right now!”

OHMYGOODNESS!  I went in to get an appointment and walked out with a haircut!

The hair-cutting gods are good to me.  🙂

Today’s miracle: Sometimes being in the right place at the right moment is way better than anything I could plan!
