Shopping made easy

You know how when you go into a store and you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, so you pick up one of everything…and then you get to the dressing room where the attendant looks at you as if you’re a moron and wasting her time and says, “You can only take in 6.”  And then she proceeds to count out all 20 of your garments and sighs at the fact that she now has to watch over the clothes that you can’t take in and count each item as you bring things out and take other ones in?

Why yes, I have experienced that more than once…why do you ask?  🙂

Anyway…this week I went shopping TWICE!  Since I’ve put myself on a budget, I’ve hardly done any clothes shopping at all.  But I’ve got a photo shoot scheduled in a couple of weeks to take new pictures for the website and nothing in my closet was going to work for the shoot.

So off I went to TJ Maxx.  Where I proceeded to pick up – should I be embarrassed admitting this? – THIRTY pieces of clothing to try on.  I was dreading the reception that I’d get at the dressing room because I know how strict they are in there.

When I got to the dressing room, I smiled sheepishly at the woman and said, “I know I’ve got a lot more here than you’re going to let me take in.”

To which she responded, “Don’t worry about it.  I’ll just count them and give you one of the rolling racks to take into the dressing room with you.  Take the one closest here because it’s biggest.”

And she proceeded to count my 30 garments, put them on a rolling rack, and show me to the dressing room!  No drama WHATSOEVER!

I was so floored that I actually remembered to take a picture of the rolling rack in the dressing room so I could share it with you:

Is that awesome or what?!? 🙂

The other notable part of this clothing exercise is that I decided to ONLY try on things that were bright and colorful (the colors in the picture don’t show that well, but trust me – all that stuff was really brightly colored.)  I was AMAZED at some of the stuff I came home with – colors, styles, and patterns that I never would have even tried on before.  This Miracle Journal thing is even changing how I dress! 🙂

I did a presentation this morning at a wellness day and I got to wear one of my new outfits.  It’s safe to say that I have NEVER worn this bright green color before:

Green – my new favorite color. 🙂

Today’s miracle: New clothes!  Colorful clothes! And easy-to-try-on clothes!
